MORPHIC RESONANCE by Pemanagpo
8K video loops, 2022
Several organic landscapes, made with approximately 100-150 generations each, depict the organic morphing of cells, tissues, organs and organisms of imaginary species. This visual narrative is inspired by the concept of Morphic Resonance, a theory which suggests the existence of a field within and around a morphic unit that organises its characteristic structure and pattern of activity. According to this theory, patterns of vibrational frequencies are inherent in the morphic fields of all living things and can influence each other across space and time through resonance. Iridescent colours suggests the perspective of non-human entity (i.e. an insect), perceiving broader colour spectrum and subtle trances connecting the forms of life together. These video loops invite viewers to contemplate the interconnectedness and unseen energetic bonds that link the organic world.
The artwork was exhibited as a separate artwork or as a part of Butoh-performance "Resonant Morphologies".
