Inspiria is a performance based on a bioreactive 3D
immersive environment where breath directly shapes the
world around, captured live through wearable sensors
that link each person’s breathing straight into the space.
Built in Unreal Engine, it’s an otherworldly, alive landscape
of glowing spheres, dense luminous foliage, and drifting
particles, paired with a spatial sound design that reacts to
the same breath data. As breath shifts, the environment
moves through distinct phases, each with its own color,
density, rhythm, and sound. The quality of breath is visibly
and audibly felt through the environment: holding one’s
breath while being submerged underwater, slow deep
breathing creating a calm space, or hyperventilating
causing chaos both visually and auditory.
